In this release Clementine gains a brand new edit tag dialog with autocompletion and the ability to automatically identify music and fetch missing tags from MusicBrainz. CUE sheets are now supported - they are detected automatically when scanning your library and each track will show up separately. We've made a load of smaller improvements as well such as showing album covers in the Library tab, greying out deleted songs, a 'Show in file browser' option, support for network proxies, a 'Full library rescan' option, and a new tooltip for the track slider that helps you seek more accurately to a specific place in a song. This release features two new information panes that show lyrics, song statistics, artist biographies, photos and lists of tags and similar artists. We've redesigned the sidebar (although you can switch back by right clicking on it), and also added ratings, play counts and skip counts. This release adds support for using portable devices with Clementine. You can now copy songs to your iPod, iPhone, MTP, or USB mass storage device. See the wiki for more information. Support for using a Wii Remote as a remote control has been added. Other features include a Queue Manager, an Organise Files dialog, automatically stretching columns in the playlist, loading embedded id3v2 cover art, more library scanning options, drag and drop between playlists, and a hypnotoad. This release features tabbed playlists, playlist search, projectM visualisations, Magnatune integration, ReplayGain volume normalisation and music transcoding. We've fixed loads of bugs too - searching large libraries is now much faster, playback is much more reliable on Windows, character encoding problems are fixed, and remote playlists should load correctly all the time.

It's been just over a month since we released the first version of Clementine. This new version features album cover-art, better 'Various Artists' detection, support for loading playlists, and much more.

Windows

  1. Visit the official website of the Clementine Music Player.
  2. Click on the download button on the main page. The package should start downloading. Wait for it to complete and proceed to the next step.
  3. Run the Setup Wizard. If you are prompted to allow the program to run, click yes.
  4. After the Setup Wizard initializes, click on the button labeled 'Next'.
  5. Choose the installation folder. If you want to let it install to the default folder, click next. Otherwise, click Browse and choose a folder. You can also directly specify the path name.
  6. Click on 'Install'. Clementine should begin installing to the folder you selected. Wait for the installation to complete.
  7. Click on 'Finish'. Clementine is now successfully installed!

Mac OS X

  1. Open a Terminal Window.
  2. Type or copy/paste into the terminal:
    curl -O https://github.com/clementine-player/Clementine/releases/download/1.2.2/clementine-1.2.2.dmg
  3. Then type ls in the terminal.
  4. Mount the package to your file system by typing (or copy/pasting):hdiutil attach clementine-1.2.2.dmg into the terminal.
  5. Install the package:sudo installer -pkg /Volumes/Clementine-1.2.2/clementine-1.2.2.pkg -target /usr/local/
  6. Now that it's installed, unmount the .dmg image:hdiutil detach /Volumes/Clementine-1.2.2/
  7. Log out and back in from your current Terminal session to update the path. After that, you can use your application.

Ubuntu

Sub-Method 1 of 2: Using Terminal

  1. Open a Terminal Window.
    This is usually done by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T.
  2. Type or copy/paste into the terminal:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine
    1. You might have to enter your password.
  3. Update the software:
    Type or copy/paste sudo apt-get update into the terminal, then hit ↵ Enter.
  4. Install the software. Type or copy/paste sudo apt-get install clementine into the terminal.
  5. And you're done. You can open Clementine by typing clementine in the terminal, or by searching for it in the dashboard.

Sub-Method 2 of 2: Using Ubuntu Software Center

  1. Open Ubuntu Software Center. Go to Dashboard and search for, then click on, Ubuntu software center.
  2. Search for Clementine. Type clementine in the top right search bar.
  3. Select the program.
  4. Click on the Install button.
    1. Enter your password, should you be prompted.
